BLOOD DONATION CAMP ORGANISED

Blood Donation Camp in the College Campus

As a part of the ongoing NSS camp, a Blood Donation Camp was organized by Dev Samaj  College  Of  Education Sector 36 B, to mark the 159^th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Dev Atma Ji, the Founder of Dev Samaj, on  Dec 3, 2009 in collaboration with Blood Bank Society Sector 37 and Rotary Club.

It was inaugurated by Mr. M.S Bains, Coordinator, NSS, Panjab University, Chandigarh. People participated in this noble cause with immense zeal and enthusiasm. In all Ninety eight blood units were collected.   The blood donors were in high spirits and their contribution to this human cause was appreciated by the Chief Guest.

On the same day at the base camp in Butrela village “The world disabled day” was observed. Dr. Uma Vasudeva from General Hospital, Sector 16, Chandigarh delivered a lecture on leprosy and had an interactive session with the students and villagers. NSS volunteers recited self composed poems and gave a presentation on the theme “Spreading Awareness Regarding the Rights of the Disabled”. Regular activities were conducted at the camp for imparting computer education, dance, singing, crafts and henna application. Addressing the gathering, Mr. M.S Bains appreciated the contribution of the college and inspired the students to achieve great heights through hard work and determination.
