To mark the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector 36B, Chandigarh celebrated National Youth Day. The ceremony began with paying the tribute to Swami Vivekanand followed by the address of Dr. Jyoti Khanna, Principal of the college.  in her address she cited many interesting events from Swami Vivekananda’s life to inspire all present at the function to ‘Face Challenges in Life’.

Mrs. Manjeet Sekhon, Lecturer expressed her views based on the life and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda. She quoted a strong message of Swami Vivekananda “Give me a few men and woman who are pure and selfless and I shall shake the world”. The speech was concluded with yet another fascinating message “Great men are those who build highways for others with their blood. Life is short! Give it up to a great cause.”

Some of the students Gurpreet Kaur, Asha, Sandeepa Rahi, Stancy Jain and Deepti Sharma presented their views and self composed poem on the themes “unity of a nation” “awakening of the youth” and “Positive thinking”.

The function concluded with the quote of the day “Choose the highest ideal and live your life upto that. Look at the “ocean” and not at the wave.”
