Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector 36 B, Chandigarh organized UGC sponsored National Seminar on the theme, “Promotion of Human Values and Ethics in Teacher Education”.

Dr. Jyoti Khanna, Principal welcomed the Chief Guest, Sh. Vivek Pratap Singh, IAS-Director Technical Education & Industrial Training, Punjab and other dignitaries. Kumari Satyawati Ji, Chairperson of the college and Principals of various colleges were also present. Around 60 delegates from various colleges of UT Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana & Himachal Pradesh participated in the seminar.

Sh. Vivek Partap Singh, IAS, in his key note address emphasized that value education is the need of hour. It is the responsibility of teachers to imbibe human values among the students.

The key resource person Dr. Rajul Asthana, MSSS, Kanpur in his presentation focused on the practical implementation of – Human Values for Holistic development, Human Enrichment, Professional Ethics & Integrating Human Values in Teacher Education. Dr. D.R Vij, National President, Council for Teacher Education, chaired the second technical session.

Around 28 papers were presented on various sub-themes of the issue. Almost all the delegates participated enthusiastically in the interactive session which was very enlightening.
