As a part of Awareness Week on Right to Information Act, the NSS Units of Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector 36 B, Chandigarh held a Panel Discussion and an Open Quiz. Dr. Seema Sareen, Program Officer and Dr. Manjula Kataria, In-charge, Legal Awareness Club of the college gave an overview of the Right to Information Act. She appreciated the initiative taken by the government to motivate our citizens in exercising this act in their day to day lives citing examples of admission and selection criteria adopted by colleges, universities and employers. Geetika and Sakshi from Dev Samaj College for Women, Sector 45 and Mehak Verma and Munish Kumar from Govt. College of Yoga Education and Health gave an outstanding performance.

Presenting her vote of thanks, Dr. Jyoti Khanna, Principal of the college said that we as the productive citizens of the country should make use of this Act to the best of their advantage. She further stressed how this Act could bring about transparency and prevent despotic activities of the government. The function concluded with the distribution of Prizes to the winners of the Open Quiz.
