
The NSS Units of Dev Samaj College of Education in collaboration with Department of Science and Technology and ENVIS, UT Administration, Chandigarh and Yuvsatta, NGO celebrated World Ozone Day in the campus. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Michael Macy, Counselor of Cultural Affairs at US Embassy in New Delhi. Ms. Madhu P. Singh, Advocate, President Helping Hand Society; Mr. Ramesh S. Jain, Cultural Affars Specialist, Embassy of USA; Ms. Kristeen Singh,and Mr. Ajatshatru, voluteers of Yuvsatta were also present on the occasion.

The function commenced with an enlightening skit titled “Protect Ozone Save Earth” followed by views and ideas of students. Slogan writing, essay writing and poster making competitions were held to mark the day.Dr. Jyoti Khanna, Principal of the College, in her address encouraged the students to adopt an environment friendly lifestyle and thus contribute towards protecting the environment.
Mr.Michael Macy held an interactive session with the students regarding issues pertaining to educational and cultural exchange programs. He emphasized that the preservation of Ozone Layer is need of hour. It is a challenging task for us. We should see the writing on the wall and act before it is too late. In her message Ms. Madhu P. Singh, said that we should make wise use of the resources only then we can think of contributing to the world we are a part of.

The function concluded with distribution of prizes to the winners of the various competitions.
