International Peace Day was celebrated at Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector 36-B, Chandigarh. 

The function commenced with a heart touching presentation on the theme of world peace and our contribution to it organised by the students. This was followed by a Group Discussion focussing on various issues hampering peace at local, national and international levels along with their feasible solutions.

Among innumerable solutions discussed by the students, the common conclusion drawn at the end of the discussion trickled down to two aspects – Education and Awareness – as potent weapons to promote peace at all levels.

Dr. Jyoti Khanna , Principal of the college in her message awakened the consciousness among the students who are the instruments of imparting knowledge in the society as a whole. Various factors like unemployment, Poverty, Population explosion and terrorism are the agents of destruction of harmony at various levels.
