Hindi Diwas was celebrated at Dev Samaj College of Education; Sector 36 B, by holding different contests with a view to spread awareness about our National language and to mark the importance of Hindi language. The programme began with the National Song “Vande Matram”.

Dr. Jyoti Khanna, Principal of the college, welcomed the Chief Guest Sh. Ajoy Sharma, IAS,Joint Finance secretary cum  Director, Higher Education, UT, Chandigarh and Guest of Honor, Kumari Satyawati Ji, Chairperson of the college. Poem recitation, Slogan Writing and Poster making  competitions were held to mark the day.

In his address, Sh. Ajoy Sharma emphasized we should feel confident and proud in speaking Hindi, only then Hindi can attain the true status of our National language. “ Hindi ko divas me nahi Dil me kaid kijiye” was the slogan which caught his attention.

Speaking on the occasion, Kumari Satyawati Ji, Chairperson of the college. highlighted the contribution of Dev Samaj  in the promotion of Hindi language.

Dr. Jyoti Khanna, Principal of the college, in her address, congratulated the college on the occasion and cited how Hindi played a vital role in the freedom struggle of the nation.. The students also presented their views on the importance of Hindi as a National language and they discussed the role of teachers in promoting the use of Hindi language.

The function concluded with the distribution of prizes to the winners of various competitions held on the occasion.
