A Lecture on Communication Skills was held at the College on 21st August, 2009. The Key Speaker was Mrs. Charanjit Kaur, Lecturer in Home Science. She highlighted the importance of good communication skills for a teacher. She emphasized that effective communication involves more than merely putting words together. She stressed six main elements of communication, i.e. source of communication, communication material, communication media, receiver, environmental conditions and situations and facilitators of barriers. In the end, she suggested activities for teachers to develop communication skills like practice in front of mirror, need for good reading habits and need for building a relationship with audience while communicating.
