The Annual Prize Distribution and Farewell Party for 2008-2009 batch of Dev Samaj College of Education was organized in the college premises. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Sh. Nek Chand, Creator- Director, Rock Garden, Chandigarh. Kumari Satyawati Ji, Chairperson of the college, Mrs. Sarita Mehta (Guest of Honor) and Principal Dr. Jyoti Khanna along with the members of the faculty were present to grace the occasion. The program began with a welcome song sung by the college students.

Sh Nek Chand and Kumari Satyawati ji , and gave away the prizes to the students for their academic excellence, participation in co curricular activities, for their commendable social work during an extremely successful session .
Sh. Nek Chand, in his address, congratulated the awardees of the session. He appreciated the work done by the students through out the year. He also released THE ANNUAL COLLEGE MAGZINE “DIV DIPTI” on the occasion.
Kumari Satyawati Ji, in her brief address, congratulated the college for its successful journey of 28 years and to pave its way to be recognized as one of the renowned colleges not only in Chandigarh but also throughout India. She also appreciated the work done by the college in the field of academics and social work.
Principal Dr. Jyoti Khanna presented the highlights of the annual collage report, in her message to the outgoing students, she said that the call for values is currently echoing throughout every land, as educators, parents and even children are increasingly concerned about and affected by violence, growing social problems and the lack of social cohesion. As educators it is our responsibility to address problems which have arisen within our society. She appreciated the enthusiasm and fervor with which the current batch participated in the entire academic as well as cultural activities.
Dr. Sarita Mehta, Guest of Honor, sharing her views reiterated the role teachers can play in creating the social fiber of the nation. She wished the very best to the batch of 2009 and advised them to be socially sensitive and globally competent in their world of work.

To mark the end of a very successful and dynamic year, the annual Prize distribution was followed by a farewell party. A fun filled program brought about the memories and the wonderful time spent by the B.Ed and M.Ed & Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance and Counseling students in the past academic year. Attended by more than 225 students, the farewell party started with the heartfelt thanks of the student council to the management, Principal and the faculty. The students gave the faculty titles.

The function ended with the beautiful Bhajan “ Phulo Phalo aur Viksit Hovo” sung by the members of the faculty to bless the outgoing students. The party with the students dancing to the beats of DJ where the students let their hairs down. This was followed by a lavish lunch.
